The introduction of a weapon capable of neutralizing all electronic systems into the Ukrainian Armed Forces will make the use of drones impossible and force troops to return to tactics involving intense small-arms firefights.

This view was expressed in an interview with Ukrinform by Lieutenant Colonel Oleh Mytropolitanskyi, commander of the professional training battalion at the 199th Training Center of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“Despite the prevalence on the front lines of FPV drones and various types of UAVs, which have changed the nature of warfare, we should not underestimate the importance of machine gunners and grenade launchers. These roles remain vital components that shape a unit’s combat readiness. I believe that sooner or later, a weapon will emerge capable of destroying all electronic systems. “And because drones will be unusable, we’ll return to tactics involving intense small-arms fire,” the commander noted.

His battalion trains machine gunners, grenade launchers, drivers, combat vehicle gunners, and operators of close-range electronic warfare systems. The duration of professional training varies by specialty, ranging from 14 to 21 training days.
