Repairs to the Loxton Road Bridge in Milnerton are underway, with work scheduled for completion by December 1.

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate said work is currently being done between 7am and 5pm Monday to Saturday, with pedestrian access across the bridge remaining open.

The upgrades include replacing the existing timber balustrades with galvanised steel balustrades, repairing damaged concrete piers, and applying a protective coating to all concrete surfaces.

"Repairs to the Loxton Road Bridge in Milnerton, between Marine Drive and the Woodbridge Island Parking area, will help extend the life of this important community link," said mayco member for Urban Mobility, Rob Quintas.
