Crews found a woman with serious injuries and, despite receiving treatment from paramedics, she was pronounced dead at the scene,‌Another woman was taken to George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton, where she is being treated for smoke inhalation. The fire took place inside a first-floor maisonette, with firefighters finding the flames originated in the kitchen, CoventryLive reports.‌An investigation is now ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident. A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to a fire at a property on Marston Lane in Bedworth at 6.25am on Saturday and sent three ambulances, two paramedic officers, and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Critical Care Car to the scene.Article continues below"Crews found a woman in a critical condition and immediately began administering advanced life support. Sadly, despite best efforts, nothing could be done to save her, and she was confirmed dead at the scene."A second woman was treated for the possible effects of smoke inhalation and conveyed to George Eliot Hospital." A spokesperson for Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service added that two fire engines were sent to the scene, assisted by another two crews from West Midlands Fire Service.They said: "Crews discovered a kitchen fire in a first-floor maisonette.
