MANILA, Philippines – The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has raised its one-time funeral benefit payment to P50,000 effective Monday, July 13.
The new amount is 67 percent higher than the previous P30,000 benefit and will apply to all claims arising from deaths occurring on or after July 13. The benefit is payable as a one-time assistance to a single qualified beneficiary or claimant.

In a statement, GSIS said it has earmarked up to P1.25 billion annually for the enhanced benefit, which will help 21,000 to 25,000 families nationwide cover funeral expenses each year.FEATURED STORIES
