World Cup tickets to watch England vs Argentina are just $2,700

Deep-pocketed fans can watch England in the Fifa World Cup semi-final against Argentina for $2,700.England earned a spot in their second World Cup semi-final in three tournaments with a nervy 2-1 extra-time victory over Norway on Saturday night and have been rewarded with a last four tie against the defending champions Argentina. The semi-final will take place under the roof of the Atlanta Stadium – usually the Mercedes-Benz Stadium – in Georgia, home to NFL’s Atlanta Falcons and Major League Soccer’s Atlanta United. And fans can get to this last four match for $2,700. That’s a lot less than the Norway quarter-final, where some fans had relisted their unwanted tickets for an eye-watering $8m. But being one of the 71,000 able to fit inside the stadium could come at a cost, with tickets on Fifa’s resale site as high as $287,000 to sit in the bottom tier. Elsewhere Category One tickets are being flogged for as much as $172,000 as fans face the cost of watching the Three Lions.Seats are available in nearly every block of the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.World Cup tickets on the rise?Ticket resale sites have tickets ranging from a similar price, $3,000, and upwards to $20,000.Over the last three days – since England beat Norway and Argentina toppled Switzerland to make the final four – the average ticket for this match has risen by 18.8 per cent – according to data from Seat Pick. They believe the prices will continue to increase for this match, while the only match remaining at this World Cup where prices are coming down is the final. Tickets for the third-place play-off are up 23 per cent in three days.Should England overcome Argentina on Wednesday in Atlanta, they will take on either Spain or France at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday.Tickets for that match are still extortionate, starting – on Fifa’s resale site – at $7,400 and rising to $11.5m.
