A major incident was declared after a wildfire on Conwy Mountain and dozens of people evacuated from a nearby village.‌"Neighbouring communities have been urged to close their windows and doors and to avoid affected areas. With the latest, it's Brendon Williams..."BBC Breakfast then spoke to some locals who had been evacuated from the area with one show guest saying: "Our dogs started barking madly at about quarter to six this morning.‌"I could smell burning, so I leapt out of bed and realised that obviously something was going on, but the whole area now up there is an evacuation zone and we don't know when we're going home."BBC Breakfast reported that on land scorched by recent hot weather and flames fanned by 30 mile an hour winds the fire quickly took hold, forcing the evacuation of dozens of homes.Another guest speaking to the show said: "Around six o'clock in the morning, we had a knock at the door and I'm like, 'Who's at the door at six o'clock in the morning?'‌"And there was a police officer and I looked outside and I'd just seen the smoke and I thought, 'Alright, yeah.' He said, 'close all your windows because obviously we've got a bit of a situation.'"A different guest then added: "Two hours later, there was another knock on the door saying, 'Pack a bag, you may have to just leave. ' And that to me hit home then because it's, 'Well, how serious is this?
