According to him, the practice marks a sharp departure from the professional discipline that once defined legal practice.
Human rights lawyer, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has alleged a growing culture of lawyers deliberately misrepresenting and misreporting court proceedings and making their clients celebrate non-existing court judgments.
He warned that the trend is eroding public confidence in Nigeria's legal profession and the administration of justice.
In a statement issued on Sunday, July 12, Ejiofor said some lawyers now exaggerate, selectively report, or completely distort what transpired in court to impress clients, shape public opinion, or create the false impression of legal success.
According to him, the practice marks a sharp departure from the professional discipline that once defined legal practice.
