The number of dollar millionaires worldwide continued to climb in 2025, with nearly one million people joining the ranks of those holding net assets of at least USD1 million, according to the latest Global Wealth Report 2026 published by Swiss bank UBS. That translates to an average of more than 2,680 new millionaires every day, or roughly 112 every hour.
The United States remained the main driver of that growth, adding 441,078 new dollar millionaires over the course of the year. Americans now account for more than 40% of the roughly 57.5 million dollar millionaires included in the UBS report.
Europe also posted strong gains, although the pace differed across the continent. The United Kingdom recorded the largest increase in absolute numbers, with more than 43,000 new millionaires, followed by France and Spain, each adding over 32,000. Italy and Germany also ranked among the world's top 10, with each country gaining more than 24,000 new dollar millionaires. On average, that equates to 118 new millionaires per day in the UK, 95 in France, 90 in Spain, 67 in Italy, and 66 in Germany.
When measured by growth rate rather than total numbers, Eastern Europe stood out. Lithuania led the global rankings with an 8% increase, adding 921 new millionaires. Turkey followed with growth of 6.4%, while Latvia, Hungary, Ireland, Poland, and Greece also recorded notable increases in their millionaire populations.
