Thai Prime Minister and authorities confirmed the deadly blaze, marking one of the worst pub fire tragedies in the tourism hub in recent years. "There are more than 27 dead," said Anwut Pho-ampai of the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, which operates a voluntary emergency rescue service. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul visited the site of the fire in the early hours of July 13.m Thai PM Anutin Charnvirakul told reporters that the pub quickly filled with smoke, citing survivor accounts from the scene. He said many people fled toward the rear near the bathrooms, but there were no fire escapes, trapping victims inside.
