Jannik Sinner is back on top.
Sinner beat Alexander Zverev in Sunday’s Wimbledon final, winning his second straight title at the All England Club and fifth Grand Slam overall. It was Sinner’s first Grand Slam win of 2026, after falling in the Australian Open semis to Novak Djokovic then getting upset in the second round at the French Open.
The 24-year-old Italian takes $4.8 million (£3.6 million) with the win, while Zverev will settle for the $2.4 million (£1.8 million) runner-up prize. Sinner now has $69.6 million in career earnings, claiming the No. 4 spot on the all-time earnings list ahead of Zverev ($68.4 million) and world No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz ($65 million).
Zverev seemed poised to upset Sinner after claiming the first-set tiebreak in Sunday’s final. But Sinner fought back in the nearly four-hour match, winning a second-set tiebreak en route to claiming three straight sets for the win.
Sinner’s Wimbledon title marks the first time since 2018 that three different men have won the year’s first three Grand Slam tournaments, after Alcaraz triumphed in Australia and Zverev won at Roland-Garros to claim his first Grand Slam title. The Big Three of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Djokovic split the three titles in 2018. However, Djokovic won the US Open that year.
