LONDON: Two people were killed and 23 others injured in 20 road accidents across Syria over the past 24 hours, state news agency SANA reported Sunday, citing the Syrian Civil Defense.
The Civil Defense said teams provided first aid to the injured before transferring them to hospitals, while also securing crash sites and clearing roads.
Emergency crews also extinguished 147 fires nationwide during the same period, including two in agricultural fields and crops and 145 in homes, commercial properties, grasslands, trees, rubbish sites and electrical systems.
All were brought under control, with damage limited to material losses and no injuries reported.
The figures follow a similar 24-hour period Friday, when Civil Defense teams responded to 14 traffic accidents and 155 fires, leaving 17 people injured.
