Apple filed the lawsuit in a California federal court against OpenAI, its io Products hardware business, and former Apple employees Tang Yew Tan and Chang Liu. OpenAI denied the accusation, saying it has “no interest in other companies’ trade secrets.”

Apple Details Alleged Access to Confidential Files

According to the complaint, Liu kept an Apple-issued laptop and exploited an authentication flaw to access the company’s internal network after joining the AI company. Apple claims that Liu downloaded confidential files related to hardware, manufacturing, and testing.
