The pair were on the famous sofa to update viewers on the news and sport headlines.‌But after the programme came to an end, Rachel took to her official Instagram account with a message for viewers. Rachel pointed out that it had been her last show before a BBC shake-up comes into place which means Breakfast - currently broadcasting seven days a week - will no longer air on Sundays.‌The change was announced last month and BBC Breakfast is among the high profile shows affected after the new director general announced plans to cut £80 million from programming on TV, radio and news as part of huge cuts across the corporation.Alongside a selection of photographs from the programme, including one of her and Roger from her last Sunday show, Rachel - who also co-presents BBC Radio 5 Live's weekday breakfast show - penned: "This is my last Sunday on the @bbcbreakfast sofa before the schedule changes in September - no complaints there, we have to cut our cloth.‌"But having done this for 10+ years, just wanted to say a massive thanks to the team who’ve worked through their Saturday nights to put the programme together, my Breakfast buddies Roger and @benthompsontv (among other lovely fellas who I’ve shared the sofa with) and of course the divine @fieldsofpoppys who puts me together most weeks .
