A month ago, if you'd asked whether I could write Python, the answer would have been no, simply because Python just looked intimidating.

As a research and data analyst however, I do love a challenge, and I asked myself the practical question: How could I actually use Python in my day-to-day work?

A dive into Python revealed one certainty: Python is not easy, but it's nowhere near as intimidating as I'd built it up to be. This is a look back at my first week learning Python: the assumptions I walked in with, and how quickly most of them fell apart.
