Spice Girls star Mel B has met members of the Royal Family on several occasions, and got the opportunity to reunite with Prince William when she received her MBE.15:17, 12 Jul 2026Updated 15:20, 12 Jul 2026While reflecting on her "best Spice Girls moment", Mel B, 51, was spoilt for choice between meeting Nelson Mandela, playing at Wembley with her bandmates, and spending time with Prince William, 44, and his younger brother, Prince Harry, 41.However, Mel also teased that her Spice Girls pal Victoria Beckham, 52, "knew exactly what she was doing" when she got involved in her 2022 reunion with the heir to the throne.Naming her top three memories from her time in the iconic pop group, Mel told The Telegraph: "Either meeting Nelson Mandela, playing Wembley or spending a day with Harry and William."Reflecting on her day with the princes, Mel claimed that one of the brothers "had a crush" on her bandmate, Emma Bunton, at the time.She continued: "They were young princes and we made them peanut butter and jam sandwiches in Kensington Palace."They were such cute kids – I can’t remember whether it was William or Harry who had a crush on Emma, but they were so polite and charming and gorgeous."Opening up on her most recent meeting with William, Mel hinted that Victoria had ensured that her dress would be "a little bit revealing" for the occasion.Victoria, who has built a successful fashion brand since leaving the Spice Girls, offered to design Mel's dress when she was awarded her MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) for services to charitable causes and vulnerable women.The singer received the medal from Prince William at Buckingham Palace, with Victoria dressing her in a vibrant red gown, with a cut-out cleavage-baring design.Mel mischievously shared: "The last time I saw Prince William it was when he was pinning my MBE to my chest in a dress Victoria had made for me, which was just a little bit revealing in exactly the place he pinned the medal to. Victoria knew exactly what she was doing when she designed it for me."Speaking to the PA news agency after collecting her MBE, Mel revealed William had "commended me on all my work that I’ve been doing".She added: “He did say, ‘I can’t believe I’m giving you one of these – I’m delighted’, and I said, ‘Aw thank you’ and we had a giggle.”
