PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines — Search-and-rescue operations remained in progress on Sunday for a 25-year-old fish vendor who was swept away by a strong river current in Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur, on Saturday morning, July 11.

The victim, Joel Ompoc, was swept away by the Tukuran River in Purok Mahogany, Barangay Baclay.

His father, Julito, continues to hope that his son is still alive after being carried off by floodwaters in the area.
