This software reduces the manual workload required for operators to review video feeds. The Vector AI is an electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) drone with a 2.8-meter wingspan. It takes off without a runway and transitions to fixed-wing horizontal flight to cover longer distances. Corporal Harrison Hinson of the Australian Army’s 2nd Cavalry Regiment stated the drone mitigates risks for military personnel by reducing the need for forward physical reconnaissance on foot or in vehicles. He noted the system functions as an additional tool for intelligence and strike capabilities rather than a complete replacement for traditional reconnaissance methods. According to Defence-Blog, Quantum Systems’ drones have been deployed in Ukraine, where thousands of flight hours provided data to adapt the platform to electronic warfare environments and air defense systems.
