The latest arrests bring the total number of suspects in police custody to 17, following the earlier arrest of 10 persons in connection with the deadly attack.
The Benue State Police Command has arrested seven additional suspects, including an 80-year-old man, over the killing of the Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Benue State, Alhaji Ardo Risku Mohammed, and another victim, Yakubu Isa.

Alhaji Mohammed and Isa were killed on July 1 while returning from a security meeting convened by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in the Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State.
According to the police, the fresh arrests were made after sustained intelligence gathering, painstaking investigations, and coordinated tactical operations carried out by security operatives.
