Representatives of the Embassies of the Baltic States in Moscow made a joint demarche at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, rejecting false public statements by Russian officials targeting Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

This is according to a statement published by Estonia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and cited by Ukrinform.

“Today, 10 July 2026, Chargés d’Affaires ad interim of the Embassies of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania in Moscow made a joint demarche at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, strongly rejecting blatantly false public statements from 4 July 2026 by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, Mikhail Galuzin,” the statement reads.

The diplomats reiterated that the Baltic states had not opened their airspace for the purpose of carrying out any attacks against targets in Russia, pointing out to the joint statement by their Foreign Ministers on 10 April of this year.

"Despite consistently communicated official position by Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania at various levels the Russian side continues to spread lies and escalate the situation. The Baltic States reject Russia’s claims as completely unfounded. Incursion of drones into the airspace of Baltic States is the result of Russia’s full-scale war of aggression against Ukraine," the statement said.
