Alan Carr, who won the first series of Celebrity Traitors, was in advanced talks for a television road trip show with Sarah Ferguson The project has been shelved indefinitely after revelations over her and her husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's relationship with the paedophile Jeffrey EpsteinThe project has now been indefinitely shelved.A source told the MoS: 'Sarah had Alan over for lunch before she left Royal Lodge and said they could make a great partnership for telly, flying around the world together.'After lunch, he was ushered into a drawing room to meet Andrew, who had been watching TV on a sofa. He seemed to hardly raise an eyebrow that Alan was there but Alan's eyes were on stalks.'Alan went to Royal Lodge that day out of curiosity to see the house, though he also wanted to do a deal. It's lucky he didn't take it further because shortly after the meeting the Yorks were once again in disgrace.'We don't know what Alan makes of the Epstein saga and with Sarah in hiding, the whole idea has run into the sand.'It is understood Alan has not been in touch with Sarah – who was a guest on his Life's A Beach podcast in 2023 – nor Andrew, since the latest Epstein revelations. He is said to have once had a brief friendship with Andrew, too. Alan lunched at Royal Lodge in Windsor before Sarah and Andrew were forced to leave the property after further Epstein revelationsAnother source said: 'Andrew has known Alan for a long time and Alan once went to his birthday party a few years ago, where just a few other people were present.'While Andrew has been exiled to a modest farmhouse on the Sandringham Estate, Norfolk, since leaving Royal Lodge in early February, Sarah has been in hiding. She had been putting together ideas for TV formats that she hoped might rehabilitate her reputation. They included an X Factor-meets-Crufts talent show which she hoped Simon Cowell might be interested in, and a reality show about the late Queen's beloved corgis, Muick and Sandy.'Sarah hasn't progressed anything while she's been away,' the source adds.'I imagine it is something she will look at again when she returns and starts to restructure her life.'Sarah has told friends she has gone somewhere quiet to 'heal', but few outside her inner circle have been told her exact location. Sarah has gone into hiding since her exile, while Andrew has moved to a farmhouse on the Sandringham Estate, NorfolkIt is thought she has found a property in the UK reasonably close to the Cotswolds home of her eldest daughter Princess Beatrice and is renting it out on Airbnb until she is ready to move in.It was also recently reported that she has been staying in a home belonging to her ex-boyfriend Paddy McNally, 88.In contrast, Alan's career has been going from strength to strength since his Traitors win.One TV project will follow his progress in running Ayton Castle in the Scottish Borders, which he bought for a reported £3.3million – and he is also working on a separate comedy travelogue series for television giant Banijay, which is behind Big Brother, MasterChef, Survivor and Deal Or No Deal.Celebrity guests for the series, which will air on Amazon's Prime Video, include fellow comedians Joanne McNally, Tom Allen and Jack Dee.He will not, however, be joined by Sarah Ferguson.
