Mumbai: Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi is set to replace the injured Varun Chakaravarthy in India’s squad for the T20I series against Zimbabwe, beginning on July 23.Varun, who played IPL 2026 despite a toe injury, had been declared fit by the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) ahead of the T20I series in England. However, he suffered a hamstring injury before the fourth T20I and has been ruled out of the Zimbabwe tour.The selection committee, in consultation with head coach Gautam Gambhir and CoE chief V.V.S. Laxman, who will oversee the side in Zimbabwe, has opted to recall Bishnoi after he was left out of the original squad.Meanwhile, pace-bowling all-rounder Harshit Rana has also been ruled out after missing the final two T20Is in England because of injury.
