Jay-Z is officially set to return to the stage as the headlining act for the upcoming The Roots Picnic in Philadelphia. On Tuesday (March 17), it was announced that the 56-year-old music icon and mogul will perform alongside The Roots at the Belmont Plateau on May 30.
The festival will take place on May 30 and May 31, with additional performers yet to be announced. News of Jay-Z’s performance at Roots Picnic comes as the rap icon continues to gear up for the 30th anniversary of the release of his debut album Reasonable Doubt, which was released in June 1996.
Last month, in February, Hov made his 1996 single “Dead Presidents” available on DSPs for the first time, also releasing pressed vinyl, cassette, and CD editions of the Ski-produced classic.
