However, after several women accused him during the MeToo movement in 2018, he got vanished from the public eye. Now, actor Rajesh Puri, who has been Alok Nath's childhood friend, has spoken about how the controversy affected him. In a recent interview, Rajesh revealed that the allegations deeply changed Alok Nath and that he has since withdrawn from the film industry. According to him, “When the MeToo allegations were made against Alok Nath, everyone was shocked because he was known as a ‘sanskari’ actor. After the allegations, he completely withdrew himself. He has almost disappeared from the industry and mostly stays confined to his home."Rajesh Puri said that Alok Nath may have made mistakes in his life. But despite everything that happened, he added, “Alok is a very clean-hearted person. He has changed completely now. He doesn’t even drink anymore. He is a very loving human being, but there were two things about him. He could not tolerate anything that upset him, and secondly, alcohol. He used to drink in a very dangerous way, and that affected him."Rajesh Puri said that during the many outdoor film shoots they worked on together, he never personally saw Alok Nath behave inappropriately. However, he claimed that Alok's behaviour changed after drinking alcohol, saying he would become "very offensive and wild."Rajesh also shared that Alok Nath has stayed away from acting and now lives a very private life. According to him, the veteran actor rarely meets people and has declined every invitation to visit him.He added, “I tell him, ‘Come home, let’s meet at our farmhouse.’ He simply avoids it. Sometimes he talks very nicely on the phone, but often he feels that a good talent is going to waste. He doesn’t accept offers and says he works from home. I don’t think he is doing much work at the moment because he is deeply hurt."Rajesh further shared that Alok Nath has turned towards spirituality in recent years, seeking solace and guidance during this phase of his life. He stated, “Whatever happened, happened. Without fire there cannot be smoke. He regrets things, and whatever happened was not good. Now he doesn’t want to face anyone. We both follow a Guru, and Alok also started following him. He came under the Guru’s guidance, but when there was a satsang, he still did not come."
