Samoa
Grassroots, Samoans abroad
Twelve students from the National University of Samoa have returned home after a two week cultural exchange in China, describing the experience as an opportunity to deepen their understanding of Chinese culture while sharing Samoa's own traditions.
The students travelled from June 19 to July 2 under the annual Chinese Bridge programme organised by the Confucius Institute at the National University of Samoa.
During the visit, the group travelled to Beijing, Liaocheng and Qufu, where they visited cultural and historical sites, including the Great Wall, and took part in traditional activities such as making dumplings and painting Chinese opera masks.
