The Congress has submitted a memorandum to the Lieutenant (Lt.) Governor seeking his intervention in conducting an Environmental Impact Assessment study before commencing the project to establish the Centre for Trauma care & Rehabilitation with air ambulance facility and Centre for Organ Transplant at Sedarapet.Congress legislator representing Ossudu constituency P. Karthikeyan in a memorandum said the proposed project by the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research was close to the Ousteri lake. The lake was declared a protected bird sanctuary a few years ago. The setting up of the facility with air ambulance would cause disturbance to the ecologically sensitive area, the memorandum said.The study should also cover the impact on agriculture land near the project site. Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and chief of Pradesh Congress Committee V. Vaithilingam was present when the legislator submitted the memorandum to the Lt. Governor.
