Dhanush and Vetri Maaran

Actor Dhanush will be reuniting with filmmaker Vetri Maaran for an upcoming film, Thamizh Murugan, it was announced on Friday (July 10, 2026). The film will mark Dhanush and Vetri Maaran’s fifth collaboration after Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Vada Chennai, and Asuran.The makers unveiled a first look video to make the announcement. It features visual of a battlefield where a man is riding on an elephant. He gets surrounded by people as the charged up background score builds intensity. The man’s face is not revealed as the first look teases an epic mythological film.Sharing the first look, the makers wrote, “The Eternal Protector, Warrior, THE KING & LEADER of the Thamizh people and lands.”The film is written by Arivumathi and features music by Sai Abhankkar. It is produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films & Production Miles To Go. More details about the plot and other cast members are awaited.Meanwhile, Dhanush will be seen next in Om, which will be released in theatres on October 15 and also stars Mammootty, Naseeruddin Shah, Sai Pallavi, and Sreeleela in pivotal roles. He was last seen in Kara, Vignesh Raja’s actioner, and Aanand L Rai’s romantic-drama, Tere Ishk Mein.Vetri Maaran is currently filming his next, Arasan, which stars Silambarasan TR.
