The Federal High Court in Lagos State on Friday remanded an alleged drug kingpin, three Mexican nationals and six other Nigerians in custody after they were arraigned by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) over the alleged operation of a sprawling methamphetamine production facility in Ogun State.
Justice Musa Kakaki ordered that the defendants be kept at the Lagos Correctional Centre after they pleaded not guilty to an 11-count charge filed by the anti-narcotics agency.

Those standing trial include 63-year-old Anochili Innocent, whom investigators identified as the alleged leader of the drug syndicate. Also charged are Mexican nationals Juan Carlos Meza Torrero, 49; Nemecio Martinez Felix, 46; and Jesus López Valles, 40, alongside Nigerian suspects Nwankwo Sunday Christian, 41; Egwuonwu Uchenna Victor, 38; Igwe Abuchi Remijus, 43; Ifeanyichukwu Chibuike Joshua, 23; Omonughwa Kingsley Orike, 45; and Nwobum Emeka, 59.
