FOOTBALL icon Cristiano Ronaldo.

I remain, unapologetically, a staunch Cristiano Ronaldo supporter. He gave me ample reason to fall deeply in love with football, transforming how I viewed both the club and international game.

Like many of his loyal followers, my admiration began during his iconic first stint at Manchester United – and yes, that makes it entirely obvious which English Premier League team I back.

Yet, for all his success in England, it was at Real Madrid that Ronaldo truly captured my heart. He matured like fine wine, achieving a legendary, near-flawless status in world football.

Every season, as Ballon d’Or chatter began, his presence at the top was a certainty. Winning it four times during his Madrid tenure alone – and five times overall – cemented his status as the world's best.
