President Donald Trump said Friday he will not sign the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, in protest over the Senate’s failure to pass the SAVE America Act.
“I will not sign the Housing Bill… in PROTEST over the fact that the United States Senate is not capable of passing THE SAVE AMERICA ACT,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Reversal From Planned Signing Ceremony
The fresh announcement reverses Trump’s June position, when Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the bill reflected policies “long championed by the President,” including curbing institutional investors’ home purchases.
Trump was set to sign the bill at a Capitol Hill ceremony in June before abruptly canceling it.
