The Ogun State Government has urged residents to make use of the state’s emergency medical services by promptly calling its ambulance response line during medical emergencies.
The appeal was made on Friday during a sensitisation walk held in Abeokuta to commemorate the 2026 World Ambulance and Paramedics Day.
Speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Health, Dr Tomi Coker, described ambulance personnel and paramedics as “silent heroes” whose dedication has continued to save lives across the state through prompt emergency interventions.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Dr Kayode Oladehinde, Coker said the annual observance provided an opportunity to recognise the sacrifices of emergency responders who work round the clock to ensure that people in need of urgent medical attention received timely and professional care.
