The Oyo State Government, on Friday, announced the release of the schoolchildren and their teachers abducted from Oriire Local Government Area of the state, describing their freedom as a victory for resilience and principled leadership.

In a statement issued by the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, in Ibadan, the state capital, said that the government expressed gratitude that the victims had regained their freedom after weeks in captivity.

The PUNCH reports that over 40 schoolchildren and their teachers were abducted during coordinated attacked at Community High school, LA Primary school and Baptist Primary and Nursery school in the local government, on Friday, May 15, 3035.

Oyelade said, “We are happy to report to our people in Oyo that our children and teachers at Oriire have been released from captivity.
