MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) clarified on Friday, July 10, that Sen. Rodante Marcoleta was permitted only two visitors at the PNP General Hospital following his own request.
According to CIDG Metro Manila Unit Director Col. John Guiagui, Marcoleta—who has been confined at the PNPGH since his July 6 arrest—specifically requested visits from Vice President Sara Duterte and Sen. Robinhood “Robin” Padilla, in addition to his lawyers.
“So many people wanted to visit – supporters, friends, allies, and relatives – but out of all of them, only two were granted permission, Vice President Sara Duterte and Senator Robin Padilla… This was a personal request from Senator Marcoleta, for those wanting to visit him, in addition to his legal counsel and attorneys,” Guiagui, speaking Filipino, said during an interview with the media at Camp Crame.
