Putin’s unwillingness to end the war is exacerbating the gasoline crisis in Russia, while Ukraine’s peace proposals have support not only among international partners but also within the Kremlin leader’s inner circle.
Volodymyr Zelensky made this statement in an evening address, according to Ukrinform.
“Today, our Defense Forces have achieved new results in the long-range sanctions against Russia: the gasoline crisis in Russia is deepening, quite rightly in response to Putin’s unwillingness to end this war. We have put forward proposals on how to bring peace closer, and we have support not only from our partners around the world but also from within Putin’s inner circle—regarding peace. They understand what is happening and that there is no alternative to peace,” he said.
The president noted that today, long-range strikes from Ukraine reached several regions of Russia, as well as targets in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine.
