Matt Krohn / Imagn ImagesJuly 10, 2026 1:22 pm EDT Updated The Minnesota Twins activated catcher Ryan Jeffers from the 10-day IL on Friday, giving them their starting catcher and one of their most consistent hitters back in the lineup for the final series before the All-Star break.Jeffers was in the midst of an All-Star-caliber season — hitting .295 with seven homers and a .949 OPS through 37 games — when he broke his left hamate bone on May 18.“I feel good,” Jeffers said to Minnesota-based reporters, including The Athletic’s Dan Hayes, on Thursday. “I felt pretty good this weekend but wanted to go down to Iowa and get some more games, get a larger sample size. I felt like I was tracking the ball well, getting back in the groove of things.”Jeffers played in five rehab games with Triple-A St. Paul and hit .375/.474/.813 in 19 plate appearances. Kyler Fedko was optioned to St. Paul as the corresponding move. The Twins will carry three catchers — Jeffers, Victor Caratini and Alex Jackson — for now.

Though they are 46-48, Minnesota is just two games back in the American League Central and one game out of the final AL wild card spot. They also lead the circuit in runs scored (459).
