The State government will facilitate the setting up of at least 10,000 Bharat Jodo Clubs across the State, Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has said.On Thursday, he told party workers at the Congress Bhavan in Belagavi that all party office-bearers have to motivate young men and women to join these clubs.“Our leader Rahul Gandhi organized the party by his padayatra from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Through that, he has given the message to the entire country. We have decided to create 10,000 Bharat Jodo Clubs in the State. They will promote sports, brotherhood and organisational skills among youth,” he said.“Each club will get ₹10 lakh. We want to groom 200 to 250 members from each panchayat. This is to ensure that there will be an unbroken chain of leadership from the panchayat to Parliament. Our aim is to prepare good leaders,” he said.“It is because of your hard work that I am the Chief Minister now. Your hard work brought the party to power. In turn, we have kept our word and fulfilled assurances made to the people,” he said.“Even though I have been the State Congress party president for six years, I cannot forget that I am still a worker at the end of day. The former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has given good governance to this State for eight years and has helped strengthen the party organization,” he said.“We will try to bring the Congress to power again under the joint leadership of leaders, including Mr. Siddaramaiah, in 2028.
