Central University of Kerala (CUK) has launched two new four-year undergraduate honours programmes from the 2026-27 academic year—BSc Honours Physics Semiconductor and BSc Honours Data Science and Artificial Intelligence—to prepare students for emerging careers in science and technology.Candidates who have appeared for the Common University Entrance Test CUET (UG) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) can apply online through the university website until July 17.According to the university, the Physics (Semiconductor) programme offered by the Department of Physics is aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and combines classroom learning with laboratory training, research projects, internships, and multidisciplinary electives. It prepares students for higher studies and careers in semiconductor technology, research space and nuclear sciences, defence, photonics, quantum technologies, renewable energy, medical physics, artificial intelligence, and scientific instrumentation.The BSc (Hons.) Data Science and Artificial Intelligence programme offered by the Department of Computer Science, focusses on computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data analytics, and project-based learning. Graduates can pursue careers as data scientists, AI and machine learning engineers, data analysts, business intelligence analysts, AI consultants, and researchers.CUK is also offering BSc (Hons.) Biology, BCom (Hons.) Financial Analytics, and BCA (Hons.) at its Periye centre, while BA (Hons.) International Relations is available at the Thiruvananthapuram centre.The provisional rank list will be published on July 21 and 22, and the final rank list will be released on July 23, while admissions will be held in three phases from July 24 to 31. First semester classes will begin on July 29.Meanwhile, CUK has extended the registration deadline for its four-year Integrated Teachers Education Programmes (ITEP) based on NCET scores to July 13.
