The late “looksmaxxer” Connor Murphy was “injecting gold” before his death in Thailand earlier this week, according to one close friend.Androgenic, also a “looksmaxxer”, has claimed pal Connor Murphy had “descended into complete madness” after beginning the dangerous practice in the weeks before his death.In a recent video, the Aussie influencer said Mr Murphy “started to get this fixation on gold” and believed the mineral gave him special powers.“A few weeks later he started the experiment, he was injecting gold… He was just crazy,” Androgenic said.“He was covered in discolouration from gold poisoning… He ended up covered in his own blood, running around the neighbourhood screaming, and then the police were called, and then the police chased him down, he ran into the lake, tried to escape, and we know what happened. Rest in Peace.”The 25-year-old, whose real name is Ronan, claimed Mr Murphy was “so deeply misunderstood”.He added: “I miss him deeply, and I wish he didn’t do that obviously… At the end of the day, I f***ing love Connor, and I hope he’s living in some blissful afterlife.”Androgenic later said Mr Murphy was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder.Chilling videoMr Murphy left an eerie clip on YouTube before his death which he captioned “obituary pending,” according to TMZ.The recording is filmed in Mr Murphy’s living room and shows him doing a random things as hard rock music plays in the background.At one point, he stares directly at the camera and says: “You mother f****** have an unhealthy relationship with death.”The video is titled “RIP Elon Muscular”.The clip was uploaded on July 2. The caption said the video was “purely a satirical acting performance. This dramatisation does not depict any true events. Nothing in this video should be replicated and everything performed abides by all laws and regulations.”He shared a post later that day saying his parents kicked him out “for Being Gay, so I’m Loving Myself”. He went on a rant about taking ayahuasca before crying as he tells a story of an infection that prevented him from having sex with a girl.Drowning death after rampageMr Murphy allegedly spouted frenzied prayers as he went on a rampage through Lake Wood Village near Bangkok, Thailand, with neighbours calling police in the early hours of July 7, when he was heard screaming and trashing the rental home before bolting outside, news wire service Asia Pacific Press reports.He was reportedly seen rolling on the street with his hands clasped together in prayer while uttering religious ramblings.When police arrived, the self-described “Giga Chad” fled toward the nearby golf course, where they found him swimming naked in the eight-foot-deep lake.Officers monitored him for hours but refused to come close, fearing he would drag them underwater.Mr Murphy was later seen struggling to stay afloat before vanishing under the surface.Divers were deployed for a search-and-rescue operation at 2pm local time. After 30 minutes, they located Murphy’s dead body in the middle of the lake.He is believed to have drowned after suffering leg cramps.His girlfriend reportedly told local police his behaviour that day had been out of character.Mr Murphy’s body was sent to a hospital just outside of Bangkok for a post-mortem exam and toxicology testing. An official cause of death, beyond the apparent drowning, has not yet been released by local authorities.
