July 10 (UPI) -- A man with a wrench intruded upon England's World Cup media center, prompting police intervention and an investigation by the English Football Association, a source familiar with the matter told UPI.

Sources told The Athletic, The Telegraph and The Standard that the man entered the facility Thursday in Kansas City, Mo., prompting a call to police. England players and coaches, who participated in training Thursday in the same city, were not there.

Police escorted the man off the premises.
