CNN postpones first MENA-hosted Global Perspectives event in Doha amid regional tensions
LONDON: CNN has set a new date for its flagship Global Perspectives event in Doha after postponing the region’s first edition of the series amid regional tensions.
The event, which brings together dignitaries, political and business leaders and other figures for discussions on geopolitics, technology, media and culture, had originally been scheduled for April 20 but will now take place on Oct. 29 at the Rosewood Doha.
Media City Qatar is the host partner for the event, which comes as CNN continues to expand its presence in Doha following the launch of a new operation in Qatar last year.
The new date was agreed after a meeting between CNN Worldwide Chairman and CEO Sir Mark Thompson and Media City Qatar Chairman Sheikh Abdulla bin Ali Al Thani.
