At just 17, Don Munachimso, a student of Diamond Special College, Owerri, the Imo State capital, is proving that brilliance knows no age or borders.
With determination, discipline, and an exceptional gift for science and mathematics, the young Nigerian rose to the top of the International STEM Olympiad, bringing home two gold medals and inspiring a new generation of innovators.
The maths prodigy had earlier emerged top of his category at the South-East Maths Olympiad organised by Alex Onyia, the chief executive officer at Educare, who also sponsored the journey to Rome.
For emerging winner at the regional competition, Munachimso qualified to represent the country at the International STEM Olympiad held in Rome, Italy.
Besides, Don Munachimso had emerged as Nigeria’s best IGCSE Chemistry student, which earned him the sum of N5 million grand prize at the 2026 South East Maths Olympiad.
