The Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa is awe-inspiring in its beauty and uniqueness.
From its central atrium — which forces the eyes upward through its immense verticality, mimicking the spiritual grandeur of a Gothic cathedral — to its impressive lift up to the rooftop, where massive glass panes offer a wrap-around panoramic view of Table Mountain, the V&A Waterfront harbour, Signal Hill, and the city’s skyline, the venue is truly extraordinary.
It provided the perfect backdrop for a gathering of Kagiso Rabada’s closest friends and family to celebrate yet another achievement by the great Proteas fast bowler. This time, however, it was not about the wickets, but rather a celebration of Rabada’s status as a globally recognised athlete.
Rabada, dressed to kill in a chequered double-breasted black suit and loafers that could easily see him strutting down the runway of an Italian fashion house, mingled with former Proteas Herschelle Gibbs and Wayne Parnell. The latter duo opting for tweed blazers, with Parnell topping his off with a Peaky Blinders-style herringbone newsboy cap.
