Major Russian businesses, including the state-owned companies Gazprom and Rosneft, are involved in the indoctrination of Ukrainian children, making it crucial to strengthen international sanctions against them.

Oksana Cherviakova, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights' representative for children's rights said this while speaking at a press conference The Return of Abducted Ukrainian Children held by Ukrinform.

"Major Russian businesses, including the state-owned companies Gazprom and Rosneft, are involved, according to new research by Yale University. This means that not only the Russian state's vertical power structure is engaged – big business is now involved as well, bringing significant financial resources. The focus is on what can be called the 'battle for the minds' of Ukrainian children. Unfortunately, if we look at all 44 entities involved – 20 companies and 24 individuals – only six companies and none of the individuals are currently under U.S. sanctions," Cherviakova said.

She stressed the importance of increasing international pressure on Russian companies and individuals involved in policies aimed at indoctrinating Ukrainian children.

According to Cherviakova, Russia still has sufficient resources to continue its strategy of erasing the identity of Ukrainian children under its control, including those living in temporarily occupied territories or those who have been deported.
