Morocco head coach Mohamed Ouahbi has promised that his side will bounce back from their Fifa World Cup quarter-final heartbreak against France, urging his players to keep building ahead of co-hosting duties for the 2030 tournament.
The Atlas Lions were desperate to replicate or better their historic, trailblazing run to the semi-finals in Qatar four years ago, but their global ambitions were once again thwarted by Les Bleus.
The 2-0 defeat at the Gillette Stadium near Boston was a painful carbon copy of the scoreline from the 2022 semi-finals. Morocco must now recalibrate and shift focus towards future cycles following a gruelling seven-month stretch on the international circuit.
"France are a really great side. We were playing a country who have been to the last two World Cup finals, and they have rarely had as much talent as they do now," acknowledged Ouahbi, after the tense last-eight clash was settled by second-half strikes from Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé.
