According to a Wall Street Journal report on Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter, the intelligence suggests Iran has developed a fresh plan to kill Trump, marking what could be a significant escalation in tensions between Washington and Tehran.
The White House did not immediately respond to Benzinga’s request for comments.
Iran has long vowed retaliation for the 2020 U.S. strike that killed Qassem Soleimani, a top commander in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, during Trump’s first term.
