Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda,
Victims of bandit attacks and security advocates on Thursday shared emotional accounts of loss, trauma and survival at the News Central Town Hall Series in Katsina State.
They called on the government to strengthen security efforts and provide greater support for affected communities.
The town hall, themed “From Fear to Safety: Survivors, Security and the Future of Katsina,” brought together survivors, security stakeholders, civil society groups and residents to discuss the impact of insecurity and possible solutions to the prolonged crisis.
One participant, who asked not to be named, lamented that no one is safe if a retired senior military officer could become a victim of kidnapping.
