A traditional pompong wooden boat had an accident in Siak regency, Riau, while transporting workers for a draft survey in the early hours of July 7, resulting in three fatalities and one missing person.The pompong boat, KM Gading 2, had the accident at about 12:30 a.m. in the Tanjung Buton Industrial Park (KITB) port area in Sungai Rawa village, Sungai Apit district, when it was sending crew to survey MV Hirmala’s draft, a maritime method of calculating a vessel's weight by markers along the hull indicating water displacement levels.
