The Federal Government is set to receive another batch of Nigerians evacuated from South Africa, with the fourth evacuation flight which landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Wednesday evening.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Air Peace-operated flight is scheduled to arrive at 7:30 p.m., bringing home a total of 284 passengers, including 12 infants.
The ministry disclosed that 282 of those on board are returnees, while two are government officials accompanying the evacuation exercise.
In a statement issued by Kimiebi Ebienfa, ministry’s spokesperson, the government said the latest flight forms part of its ongoing evacuation programme for Nigerians returning from South Africa. The arrival of the fourth batch underscores the Federal Government’s continued efforts to facilitate the safe and orderly return of its citizens through coordinated diplomatic and logistical arrangements.
