The Irishman didn't defend the title, instead adding the lightweight belt when he knocked out Eddie Alvarez the following year. Holloway went on to win the interim 145lb title before beating Aldo to be crowned undisputed champion.‌He would go on to lose to Alexander Volkanovski who is currently enjoying his second spell as champion having seen his first reign ended by Ilia Topuria. And asked to rank the five champions, Holloway dumped McGregor - whom he faces in Las Vegas this weekend - dead last.‌"Aldo is my favourite, but I can see the case with Volkanovski," he said. I'm not going to rank myself so it would have to be Aldo, Volk, maybe you give a little bit more to Ilia because of the guys he fought. And then Conor just won it one time, boom, disappeared, became a double champ, so kudos to him, but that's just the way I look at it."Holloway, meanwhile, is confident he can end McGregor's comeback before it starts when he welcomes the Irishman to the cage for his first fight in five years. The rivals will meet at welterweight and Holloway has no fears about stepping up a weight division.Article continues below"I'm going to go in there and put paws on him," he added. "You know, I want to make him wish that he didn't come back. Actually, no, I'm not going to make him wish that.
