The Kebbi State Government says the closure of schools is not politically motivated but is aimed at ensuring the security of both staff and students.

The Special Adviser to Governor Nasir Idris on Communication and Strategy, Abdullahi Zuru, stated this in a statement issued to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday.
According to him, school closures in affected areas remain necessary, adding that the decision is to protect the lives of students and teachers.
