July 9 (UPI) -- A Maryland mother won a $50,030 prize from a Bonus Match 5 lottery ticket she received as a birthday gift from her son.
The Anne Arundel County woman's son told Maryland Lottery officials he used her preferred lottery numbers when he bought tickets for Bonus Match 5, Pick 3 and Pick 4 games from the Giant store in Glen Burnie in May.
He checked the tickets the next day and discovered the Bonus Match 5 ticket had matched all five numbers, earning a $50,000 prize, plus an additional $30 for matching three numbers on two other lins.
"I sat there looking at that ticket and knew right away I was going to surprise her on her birthday in June," the son said.
